8:45 pm.
I like turning off all the lights in my room at night and looking out of my 4th floor window.
I can see city lights blinking in the distance and their reflections on the water surface.
Tonight, only a few lone stars up there.
Down here, just a gentle breeze.
The silence is much welcome.
All in all, it's a quiet night.
And moments like these are my favorite here.

What's the one thing the Japanese love to do when spring comes? The answer is "hanami" or "flower viewing". Crowds of people flock to parks or other famous sightseeing places to enjoy the colorful flowers in full bloom. But it's the sakura that steals the show. This is my first "hanami". We didn't have that kind of thing back at home. So, I didn't really get what all this hype was about watching those flower blossoms. I mean, how beautiful can they be? As it turned out, very beautiful indeed. Breathtakingly so. I love spring in Japan. It's a very nice change from the cold drab winter days. The sakura blossoms don't last long. What goodbyes are made of (Part 3)

            One time, I went to a zoo all alone.             It was in Tokyo.             I remember the date: 14 th of February.             The zoo was huge and it was like being lost at sea. There were endless waves of happy people, with matching smiles and love-struck eyes. I understood what being a boat without an anchor must be like. Floating yet drifting away. But it was kind of nice to explore the zoo by myself. I felt more connected to the animals.        Anyway, so, there I was, walking around the zoo and gawking at the animals. Suddenly, I locked eyes with this crane alone in his cage. He was staring at me skeptically. “Hey you! What cha looking at?” he seemed to say. He looked like one of those punk-rockers, the plumage on his head sticking out in all directions. The body was white but the lower part just above his legs and the tip of his tail were as black as the night sky. He was pretty badass.
